There are a few important things to remember when using your Homeowners Cooperative (HC) membership
Being part of our cooperative is hassle-free. But there are a few things you should remember:
Show your membership cards
Remember to have your HC membership card with you. Proof of membership is required in order to receive any discounts.
Come prepared
When ordering materials (such as siding, tile, carpet, etc.), it's helpful to know the amount you'll need. Having measurements of the area will make the process go more quickly.
Ask for the contact person
Make sure that, if a company specifies a contact person within their store who deals with HC members, you know who to ask for.
Talk to the vendor
All arrangements are between you and the vendor. If you require their services, contact them, not HC.
Ask questions
If you are uncertain about the type of information you need to bring into a supplier- e.g. drawings, specifications, sizes, material types and so on-, call them first.
Protect your membership card
Membership is non-transferable. It's important for your sake, as well as for all HC members, that membership is not abused. The premise of HC is to use the large membership to expect more services and preferential pricing. If the membership is undermined, it diminishes everyone's membership.
