Important information for suppliers
For your records, we recommend you set up a distinct cash account under the name of "Homeowners Cooperative." This way your sales people can easily reference the account to verify your pricing scale. It also allows you to track the amount of business our members are generating for you.
Also, make note that all sales taxes are due at time of purchase.
Here's how we foresee the process:
Clear person of contact
A Homeowner Cooperative (HC) member comes into your store and proposes to purchase materials from you. (If, in your profile, you have stated a specific contact salesperson for our homeowner members, either the homeowner should know that before showing up or should be directed to them.)
Check membership cards
In order for them to recieve your preferred pricing, they must show their HC membership card.
There are 2 types of membership. A 1-year and a 3-month membership. On their cards there will be ID information as well as a clearly marked expiration date.
Good deeds get good ratings
You don't need to show a retail/list price and then your discount. But some members are choosing to do so in order to emphasize the savings passed on to the homeowner members. This also advertises the value of their HC membership and the value of the supplier as a great resource for members. (Remember, there is a Comment page where homeowner members will interact with each other to exchange info about great deals and rate businesses in the directory.)
Once again...
It's important to check for membership cards. If cards are easily transferred, it will limit the number of homeowner members. This will directly limit the number of people who will use the directory- and you- for business.
